GUITAR legend Pete Townshend has revealed that he is a massive fan of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood.
The 65-year-old axeman with My Generation legends The Who confessed his love after collaring star John Barrowman, 44, at Heathrow.
John - Captain Jack Harkness in the BBC sci-fi hit - said: "I was on my way to Cannes when Pete came up and said, 'I just have to tell you, I'm a huge fan. I've watched every episode three times.' "
A pal said: "John was left reeling. He's used to kids and geeks coming up to him to quiz him about the show. It goes with the territory. It's something else when a big star like Pete Townshend approaches like a wild-eyed fan.
"John didn't know how to take it and replied, 'Oh, huh, that's great.' But now he's telling anyone who'll listen about his number one fan."
Torchwood has been a cult hit for the Beeb and is a splash in both Britain and the US, where the last series was made.
The show, which revolves around a team of alien hunters, faced the axe because of a funding crisis until US network Starz stepped in. The fourth series will be screened this summer.
